MIXING / MASTERING / RECORDING
Rock energy. A sound with character.

Jan Wiliński, known as MIX-JW, is a Polish mixing and recording engineer. He has worked on projects by Szpaku, Kaz Bałagane, Malik Montana, Kabe, Tatiana Okupnik and 27.Fuckdemons. His credits also include recordings featuring Rowdy Rebel and Sosa Geek. Albums, EPs and singles he has contributed to have earned gold, platinum and diamond certifications. These include Szpaku’s “Plaster” — diamond, Malik Montana and OG Enzo’s “911” — platinum, and Kabe and Opiat’s “Quattro” — gold.
He grew up in a musical family — both his mother and father conduct choirs and orchestras. He played in rock bands from an early age and recorded his first paid session at thirteen. Those experiences still shape his approach: he brings rock energy and an ear raised on classical music to contemporary rap and pop. It was his idea to bring the Cantabile choir into Szpaku’s “Plaster”.
In the studio, he values a powerful sound, emotion and a good rapport with the artist. He enjoys working closely with musicians and producers, finding ways to bring out the character of a recording. In every track, he looks for what draws the listener in and carries the emotion — then builds the mix around it, developing the artist’s vision and adding his own touch.
He developed his craft in workshop sessions with Chris Lord-Alge and Andrew Scheps. He holds the Avid Certified Pro Tools Specialist certification, has completed the Pro Tools Professional certificate programme at Berklee College of Music and is continuing his studies there.
